We hope you have been enjoying Term 2 so far! IFSTAL HQ has been busy and there's lots happening. Here is a round up of what's going on.
NEW IFSTAL Units 3 & 4 Launched TODAY!
Unit 3 explores Methods for Analysing Food Systems, while the 4th Unit explores systemic change in the food system. Both can be found under the 'Courses' tile on the Portal - here. The face to face workshops corresponding with these take place on Thursday 9th February (except at Oxford where we'll be holding the workshop for Unit 3 on Tuesday the 7th February) and Thursday 23rd February. IFSTAL Symposium: Technology – A Silver Bullet for the Food System?
Registration for the IFSTAL Symposium on 28th January has now closed! If you registered a place but cannot attend, please let us know asap as each place costs us money and there are people on a waiting list.

Tropical Agriculture Association Award Fund (TAAF) - Up to £1000 award offers to MSc students in subjects related to food production and natural resource development at selected UK universities. A Call for Applications and an Application Form can be downloaded from their website www.taa.org.uk (click TAAF on the home page).
Call for sessions/papers:
Oxford Food Forum (to take place on April 29th 2017) ‘Beyond the Silo: Understanding and Building Linkages across the Food System’. For submissions and questions, please contact Abigail Bok at firstname.lastname@example.org . The first deadline for proposals is January 30, 2017. Depending on the number of initial submissions, there may be an opportunity to submit in a later round with a provisional deadline of February 10, 2017. Early submissions are strongly encouraged.

Postgraduate forum on organic farming - The postgraduate forum is part of the Organic Producers’ Conference in Birmingham 1-2 Feb 2017 . This will be a fringe workshop at 17.45 to 18.45 on Wednesday Feb 1st. Students will need to book tickets for the Conference, some bursaries are available.
