Unit 1 Workshop (TODAY!)
A reminder that today is the first workshop where you can learn about and participate in a problem structuring tool that can help you understand more about the food system. Please look at the Events page on the portal to see where the local sessions will be held.
Although we recommend having gone through Unit 1 prior to the workshop, it is not essential in order to attend.
AWAY DAY – Communicating in the Food Systems Community

PhD Symposium (Fully funded, for all stages of doctoral research)

Are you an IFSTAL PhD student? Would you like to meet others working on the food system? We have an opportunity for you to meet and discuss your research areas and learn more about collaborative and interdisciplinary research.
Interdisciplinary research has successfully addressed many complex problems in the food system, yet interdisciplinary research is not without its
challenges. This workshop is designed for IFSTALs PhD students to provide
insights into the different ways of doing interdisciplinary research, to draw
attention to the potential problems posed by interdisciplinary research and to
support critical reflection on the students' own doctoral research.

Stories On Our Plate (SOOP) November Supper Club [24th & 25th November 2016 (London)]:
Stories On Our Plate is and initiative that tackles the barriers refugees face when seeking employment in the food and catering industries. We tackle these barriers through a culinary incubator/training program. As part of the program we organise supper clubs and cookery classes organised and delivered by our participants.
This month SOOP are showcasing our friend and supremely talented Armenian chef Natalie, from Natalie's Armenian Kitchen. Natalie is a rising supper club chef star - showcasing Armenian cuisine that is relatively unknown to Londoners. She will be sharing some of the stories from her 10 course sharing menu, of which the recipes were handed down from her grandmother. This supper club is set at Natalie's home, so tickets are limited!
