Hello IFSTAL folks,

I hope this finds you all well and not drowning under the weight of exams or dissertations….or the impending referendum result….eeeek! In the IFSTAL camp, we are busily getting ready for the summerschool which we are all looking forward to. And of course we are also appraising how IFSTAL has gone this last year - stripping back bits, fixing, re-arranging, re-imaginging, tinkering and experimenting.

I know we’ve been badgering you about this, but if you are yet to fill out our questionnaire, please do so in order that all this effort is well informed by you…..and not just our biased ‘behind the scenes’ view of things. The link to the survey is HERE. You could win a £60 restaurant voucher & I’m pretty sure with much better odds than almost any other prize draw you’ve entered :0)

In other news, IFSTAL won an Honourable Mention in the OxTALENTS awards – you can read more here.

Other things:

New on the VLE

·         We have a new blog by Francesca Allievi at the Barilla Centre for Food and Nutrition telling us about their recent activities and a public consultation they are running on climate risk and food risk.

Not yet on the VLE, but coming, is Prabhu Pingali’s webinar. Apologies for the delay in uploading this – IT compatibility issues have been challenging!

Opportunities

·         TFF Amabassador Recruitment: Thought for Food are recruiting for Ambassadors. As an ambassador your job would be engaging your community to tackle the challenge of feeding 9+billion people. Being part of this community gives you access to an annual challenge event, and a network offering internships and connections. TFF is a platform for Deadline is June 30th!

·         Food Ethics Council internship: The Food Ethics Council have a 3 month, part-time, unpaid internship on offer with the role of helping to deliver the next Food Issues Census. Originally undertaken in 2011, the census is a great resource for anyone interested in the UK’s civil society sector working on food.

Finally, for those of you who are eligible to vote in the EU Referendum, please don’t forget to VOTE!

Best Wishes,

Bex (on behalf of the IFSTAL team)
