The summer term is nearly over but there are still plenty of events, job opportunities and IFSTAL-related activities coming up so Read On! As always, your ECs, PIs, and Rosina are always happy to talk and help in any way we can.

Attention PhDs : WRAP is looking to host some interns in 2018- Closing date 10thAugust 2017 

Research Councils UK is running apolicy internship schemeallowing PhD students funded by the various RCUK research councils to get experience in a policy-relevant organisation.

Eating Better Campaigns Officer post – Closing date 27 July

Senior Lecturer in Sustainability, Centre for Alternative Technology  

The Centre for Alternative Technology at Machynlleth, mid Wales, has pioneered low energy work and research for 40 years.  It is developing a new MSc Food Sustainability & natural Resources, and is looking for another academic on board. Calls for sessions/papers:   

  • Journal of Urbanism has a special issue call: Food and Urbanism. The aim is to explore and extend our knowledge and understanding of the ways that food and urbanism interconnect in diverse urbanism contexts worldwide. More information here, Deadline 1st September. 

  • Oxford Real Farming Conference 2018. The 2018 Oxford Real Farming Conference will be held in the Oxford Town Hall on 4th & 5th January. As always, this unique gathering of the UK's sustainable and organic food and farming movements will offer a practical mix of on-farm advice, showcasing new techniques for best practice in agroecological farming, as well as broader discussions on what needs to change to create real change in the food system.
